Deon Zender Estrada, born on January 13, 2003, in Long Beach, California, has been fascinated with fish since he was a child. Rather than going to amusement parks, he would prefer to visit an aquarium.
He would spend hours staring at fish, observing their colors and movements. When he was 13, he started painting on small 5x7-inch canvas boards given to him by his father, who is an artist. Inspired by the view of the ocean from his father's studio in San Pedro, he painted various fish species.
A year later, he went on his first snorkeling trip to Catalina Island and was mesmerized by the underwater world. Over the years, he has snorkeled at many beaches along the California coast and taken pictures of fish, which he painted on small canvases.
His art skills are improving every year, and he aspires to become a professional artist inspired by the works of Wyland and Guy Harvey.
His work aims to bring the beauty and wonders of the ocean to people's homes, and he hopes to create a foundation that can help preserve natural resources. Deon participates in many art walks and exhibits his work, including at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach.
